BASICS.fst “food safety training in Canada” This one day course is based on the Canadian Food Retail and Food Services Regulations and Code. It provides all the information needed to knowledgeably work in the food service industry and is directed towards the frontline food handler in foodservice. A passing grade of 74% is required to receive a 5 year nationally recognized certification through TrainCan, Inc. This program has been reviewed and accepted by Public Health Units across Canada.

During this program we cover:

• The Flow of Food from Purchasing
   to Serving
• Proper Storage
• The Temperature Danger Zone
• The 3 Main Food Hazard
• Cross Contamination and How it

HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)

Recognized internationally as a food safety system for food processing facilities, this is becoming required training for any level of processing – Federal, Provincial and Municipal. This one day intensive course outlines details of all 6 Pre-Requisite Programs and how to develop policies, procedures, and corrective actions. We also spend time with the 10 HACCP Forms produced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) using a simple generic model – working through each step of development.

Safety Training for Food Service Establishments

Certification programs (developed by the TrainCan, Inc. of Toronto) for the foodservice industry are available for your cafeteria / catering / restaurant employees. Management level and foodhandler level training is provided specifically. A written examination is required for certification. Other training is available and can be tailored to your specific needs. All training can be provided either at your facility or offsite at a nearby location.
